December at the CFM

ANNOUNCING: This month begins the Coppell Farmers Market (CFM) abbreviated winter schedule. Our farmers and food producers will offer a delightful variety of vegetables and seasonal specialties all winter long.

The Coppell Farmers Market will be open twice monthly December through March and the weekly schedule returns in April.

OPEN:
December 2 & 16
January 13 & 27, 2018
February 10 & 24
March 10 & 24

Farmer Keith Copp, owner of D-Bar Farm, will be one of five growers bringing just picked vegetables to the CFM this winter. Eight big hoop houses sit on Copp’s Ponder, TX farm, plus some-odd acres that will be productive through the cold months. The farmer lists the impressive variety of vegetables he’ll harvest this December:

“Hothouse tomatoes and cucumbers, winter greens like lettuce, kale, collards and spinach, broccoli, plus Brussels, cauliflower, snap peas, fennel, parsley and cilantro.”

Among long-time CFM farms and ranches, like D-Bar and Livestock First, shoppers can expect to find NEW farms and products this winter. We just welcomed Lost Ruby Ranch, a Bonham, TX goat dairy that produces 8 flavors of fabulous chevre. Delanco Farm and Bridges Heritage Farm, also new to the mix, will add more variety to the list of available veggies grown without the use of synthetic chemicals.

For holiday needs consider skipping the supermarket in favor of shopping the Coppell Farmers Market this Saturday.
