The fifth season of free Market to Kitchen demonstrations begins a week from now, Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. More commonly known as Chef Demos, local chefs bring their expertise to Coppell FM customers with a live demonstration of culinary techniques showcasing seasonal CFM offerings.

Kicking off the 2015 free series and returning for the third time is the popular and informative Chef Hugh Stewart, the Sous Chef at Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill. His professional training began in the culinary school at El Centro College and continued with extensive classical French training from his mentors who helped Hugh move from pantry to Executive Chef at Dallas’ own Jeroboam. For five years he traveled and lived in Central America and the Caribbean, learning about the exotic flavor of the Caribbean and Spanish cuisines. This helped him develop his palette and enhance his knowledge of culinary arts.

Over two years ago he joined the culinary team at Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill where he turns heads with his world class specials and off menu features. Stewart is a familiar face at the Coppell Farmers Market, often seen at his parents’ Biscuit Head Baking Company where they sell their hand crafted doggie biscuits as well as Texas Olive Oil products.

This year’s series begins two months earlier in the season than usual to coincide with the end of Working Well in Coppell Week which wraps up at the Market. The result of the earlier date is a more winter set of produce options than found in prior Market to Kitchen demonstrations.

The demonstration will begin promptly at 10:00 on April 11, under the extra shade cover in the grass by the center of the pavilion. Join other market customers wanting to learn how to maximize market offerings to create their own food scene at home.
