Buy a Coppell Farmers Market ornament on Saturday, sold by the Assistance League and benefitting their many local projects. Each year a different Coppell institution is featured on their ornament.

Until the first freeze in the rural areas, farmers will have yellow squash, zucchini, and field tomatoes. D-Bar will continue to have hothouse tomatoes, green beans, and cucumbers, extending the season under cover in containers. Pears and persimmons may return this week but that should be the last of them.

David Fisher’s loofah was an unexpected find last week. Dry your own and have a really long sponge to use with Renee’s soap! Did you know you can cook a loofah? A member of the cucurbit family (like cucumbers), it is slightly softer than a cucumber and slightly crispier than a zucchini. Click here to learn more.

Additions from our artisan producers – gluten free cookie dough balls, organic spelt pancake mix, and a cheddar cranberry cheese ball. Texas Olive Ranch has some new flavored oils including jalapeno, plus some new varietals using a different olive that yields smoother oil.

Vendor Update – Saturday is the last market for Elliott Grows’ hydroponic greens until spring. Hiram Farm will be here Saturday and at all Winter Markets. Jill Holden will not be here this week with her plants and other items but returns Dec. 5 and once a month through the winter. Gulf seafood is out until the 2016 Market Season.
