Jump start preparations for next Tuesday’s Cinco de Mayo celebration by shopping at this Saturday’s Coppell Farmers Market. Several vendors bring special offerings perfect for your Mexican fiesta table.
Fresh salsa and those crispy thin tortilla chips from Two Chefs will get the party started. For entrée choices, check out the cheese and jalapeno tamales, the flavor of the week at The Tamale Company or any of their other favorite offerings. Meats, tortillas, cheese, salsa, and vegetables could also be used to bake a Mexican style casserole as a second entrée. Both meat vendors offer jalapeno links that might add a South of the Border taste. Tomatoes, green onions, radishes, and salad greens make a fresh salad along with a yellow and zucchini squash medley as a vegetable side dish.
This Saturday is also one of the occasional artisan arts and craft fairs at the Coppell FM. Find a favorite artisan from past events or the winter markets, or discover something new. All items are handmade or upcycled goods with many one of a kind, just in time for Mother’s Day or early Father’s Day shopping.
