Open Rain or Shine!

Rain or shine, the farmers market is open! If the pavilion flaps are down, then it is dry and cozy inside! Each vendor determines whether or not it is right for him/her to come, a decision usually based on how wet the fields were at picking time or if their products don’t do well in excess moisture (think soaps . . . ).

For current market weather notices, please check our Facebook page.

Here are activities to expect, or not, on October 31:

Doggie Costume Day – in the west parking lot. Sponsored by the Coppell Humane Society, they will take pictures of pups, kids and doggie parents. Donations appreciated.

Princesses with a Purpose – bring your young ‘ens who will be enthralled with these young people dressed as/acting like princesses . . . and one prince. Donations appreciated.

Avenue of Arts and Crafts – postponed until December 5, providing a big kickoff to our Winter Market Season.

Music by HarpEssence – the ensemble of the concert grand harps of HarpEssence may be postponed due to weather. Their decision is pending.

The farmers market was open last week, but October 24th special events were rescheduled to November 7 because of the questionable forecast. So next Saturday, the Coppell Public Library will have their rescheduled chef demo by Chef Joe Baker who will present a French pastry, tarte tatin in conjunction with Coppell Reads Julia Child’s memoir “My Life in France.” The free program will begin at 10:00 on the lawn where chairs and shade cover await.

Also on November 7, Living Well and Working Well in Coppell will host their rescheduled Coppell Wellness Day Expo of businesses on the grassy area. Find free health screenings, participate in local fitness demonstrations, get flu shots and much more.

November 7 brings the Mobile Knife Sharpener, Jack Gresham, during regular market hours.

The Coppell FM runs year round by demand of customers and vendors. Weekly markets continue through the Saturday before Thanksgiving, then twice a month December-March:  December 5 & 19, 2015; 2nd & 4th Sat. in Jan., Feb., March 2016. Same hours.
