About the Chef:
Chef Sarah Penrod trained at Le Cordon Bleu Scottsdale, and is a 3rd generation chef. She grew up cooking with her grandparents who owned two North Texas restaurants, the PK grill and the Builder’s Supply Café in Denton.
Chef Penrod remembers that while she was growing up her grandparents made wine from wild grapes, smoked hogs, and had an enormous truck-patch garden. Together they made jam, chutney, and pickles. Before chef Sarah was born her Great Grandmother Thelma organized the first ever school lunch program for New Hope Grade School in Crossroads, TX, where she cooked on a pot belly stove!
With such deep roots in food and farming, Sarah understands the importance of connecting food with place and season, and the superior taste of just-picked vegetables.
