Non-Profit Booth Encourages Sense of Community

The Coppell Farmers Market is a community endeavor. Farmers come from within 150 miles, which means they tend to spend their dollars locally as well. The market is run by a committee of volunteers with support from the City of Coppell, while our mission commits us to “provide fresh, seasonal produce and agricultural products for our community while fostering a sense of place in Old Town Coppell.”

Another commitment to Coppell involves setting aside one non-profit booth each market day. Non-profits can use this space for fundraising or to raise awareness.

Coppell has countless service groups and other non-profits who might want to use this space. To name a few, Scouts, student clubs, civic organizations, charity walk groups, various Parent Teacher Organizations or churches might sell performance or raffle tickets, cookbooks, or other items.

Groups reserve this space by contacting the Coppell Farmers Market as indicated on the Apply to be a Vendor page. The request is then forwarded to committee member Andy Johnsen who coordinates requests on a first-come, first-served basis. As with other vendors, the Coppell FM provides only a space; tables, chairs or shade cover must be supplied by the group.

The booth was used last weekend for awareness by the Coppell Citizens Police Academy and Coppell Citizens on Patrol for a Meet and Greet Coppell police officers. The Coppell Humane Society is a regular visitor with free photos of pets or people, most recently with Uncle Sam. Donations gladly accepted. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have raised money for Eagle Scout, Gold Award and other projects. The Coppell High School Band has entertained and fundraised for their upcoming trip to London.
