Strong and Mighty, Your Market Stands

Written by Aimee Blinder, CFM Committee Member

In this unique shared experience, maintaining even the smallest of things you can count on become valued anchors. Coppell Farmers Market (CFM) remains here for our community and our vendors, offering nourishing foods and a small sense of normalcy and comfort.

Under the existing state of disaster city ordinance all farmers markets are deemed a “viable grocery option” so we are able to remain functioning with certain interim guidelines implemented to ensure health & safety measures. Going forward with our spring/summer schedule, we will now be open every Saturday.

The health of our community and our vendors is our highest and most divine priority so we humbly ask for your help. While we all continue to walk together through this common experience, please adhere to the following guidelines while visiting the market for your fresh food needs during this time:

  • Please visit the COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS page before you visit the market, let’s all do our part.
  • Also listed on the “COVID-19 Precautions” page (linked above) is information about changes to the layout, function, and sanitation standards of the market during this time. We will be spacing our vendor stalls, implementing the 6-foot social distancing  standard for all customers, and actively sanitizing high touch areas.
  • Customers and Vendors are required to wear a mask. Cloth masks are acceptable.
  • If you are ill in any way, please stay safely at home. Arrange a friend or neighbor to do your shopping or use other methods until you’re feeling better.
  • To find out which vendors are offering pre-ordering, and which forms of payment all vendors will receive, use this link: https://coppellfarmersmarket.org/2020/03/pre-purchase-links-accepted-forms-of-payment-and-available-products/
  • We will not be offering market tokens. Embry Family Farm and Weathertop Farm do not accept credit cards. Consider bringing cash.
  • We will continue to accept SNAP benefits, ask a market staff person about where and how to purchase SNAP tokens.
  • Please do not bring pets, although we love them, we would like to try and keep as much open space as possible.
  • If childcare is available, please also consider keeping children at home, again we love them, and want to keep them safe. The playground is closed.
  • We ask that you not eat or linger at the market during this time.
  • Do sanitize your hands before entering the market, throughout your visit, and when you leave.
  • Be patient, be kind, the market way.

We have absolute faith in the strength of the community we serve, and appreciate your help in keeping our market safe and orderly during this time. Our thoughts remain elevated that new seasons will come, when we can once again join together in our social embrace, but until that time we remain together in our wondrous, steadfast solidarity. We thank you for your continued loyalty and support. “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” – Julian of Norwich
